Music Play Counts?
I’ve been seeing/hearing a lot of people talking about the fact that they have that “one song” they listen to all the time, and how it has “hundreds of plays” on their iTunes/music program/whatever. I always give them the same “Are you shitting me?” look, because playing a song hundreds of times is nothing.
So I flipped to iTunes and sorted by play count. My top song (which for the record is Only Time by Enya) has 3129 plays. Now I’m sure some of you are going “you only listen to that one song, the rest of your songs are low counts!” That’s not true. My 2nd highest has 2931, and the next has 2766. In fact the top 11 songs in my iTunes are all over 2000 plays, and they steadily progress downward after that through the 1000s and so on.
Maybe I just listen to a lot of music (in terms of time listening not amount of different music listened to) but it seems pretty average to me. So next person I hear talking about that “one song” with 300 plays, I’m just gonna smack you upside the head with a large wooden cutout of the number 3129.
Anyone else have the high play counts like I do and want to back me up on this?

Pogo. No, not the stick. The remix music artist. I just found him today, and I got so say, from his free stuff he’s pretty damn good. If you’re into the whole electronic/remixing/awesome stuff, should check him out. He’s got a website and aLast.fm with some free downloads.
