Strange Ideas
I have a habit of thinking of ideas for stories and fanfiction all the time, even when I’m doing other things (in this case being in class). Today though the idea was so strange and so random I felt the need to write it down and share it with those of you who read this blog…
The story would be divided into (at least) two sections. The first section would tell the tale of a young woman who gets injured in an accident and becomes mentally handicapped. She then has to deal with her now limited functionality while still wanting to be an independent person. With the help of her friend she manages to do just that, and falls in love with a stranger who she meets on the street.
As luck would have it, the stranger has just moved into town and decides to accept her feelings, and they start dating. This part of the story is all about how their lives are changed, both because of the things that put them in this situation, and how the relationship helps them keep going.
Then we get to part two, and this is the part that confused even me. We jump into the future a few years, where the two lovers have gotten married and have a young daughter. The story now follows the daughter and how she deals with her mother’s condition and her father’s job (he’s almost never home, etc). When I say young, she’s in grade school, that sort of young child. It becomes a tale of how she learns that different doesn’t mean bad, and all that stuff. It’s all very inspirational and stuff.
But… I have no experience at all with this sort of story. I’ve never written anything like it before, nor have I ever wanted to. It just came out of nowhere. In all honesty, the idea was originally a fanfiction, and the women who becomes mentally handicapped was one of the main characters, which would have made it that much worse to write.
Anyway, just felt like sharing something random that was floating around my head today. Might do this more often.
